June 13th: A Summer Day with 3 Summer Days Packed in it and a Camera Phone.

It all started at 12:00pm when I drove my way over to Paul's house, he climbed over into the driver's seat of my car (because his is currently a little broken, but don't worry, not too broken) and we were off! The two of us had kind of started out with rough mornings so it seemed important that we had the best day possible, which we did. I pack us lunch (PB&J plus snacks) and we drove down to the Zoo.

We felt a little overwhelmed when we first got there, considering neither of us had been to the Zoo in a good five years. So, we did what any couple would do...started from the farthest side and worked our way over.

First on the agenda of "important things we had to see" was the Grizzly Bears, mostly because I've nicknamed Paul "Bear" for as long I can remember. It's a nickname that goes around with both us. Therefore, I was more than eager to take a picture of Paul in front of the 'Bear Mountain' sign.

The next best thing (and my very favorite part of the Zoo) is the Polar Bears!! I have so much fun every time I go to the Zoo and get the see the Polar Bears, they are just always the cutest thing. I can usually go about 5 or 6 entire minutes before getting depressed that they probably hate all the hot weather. Nevertheless, we wanted to see how we measured up next to those bad boys!

Sleepy Tigers, the on his back showed us he loves tummy pets!

We got so close to a little hyena, she wasn't laughing much, though, just sleeping like her Tiger friends!

We also stood next to some Lion King friends. Paul with Simba, and I with Nala...obviously. ;]

Soon after our Zoo date had ended and we were completely worn out, Paul drove us even farther into downtown so that we could get some food for dinner! We ended up at a place that some of you might know called Maggiano's! We felt a little fancy and shared Alfredo and Spaghetti between the two of us. It was beyond good, and just what we needed to get a little energy back.

Next we were off to a lovely little baseball game where we got to sit outside and people watch. One thing about Paul and I is that we both love baseball, a lot, and therefore it was the perfect way to end the Summer day.

On the drive home, I got a little too stressed out from hectic, aggressive people on the freeway, so Paul got right back behind the wheel, once we ended up in an area neither of us had ever been in. We drove home in the middle of a Thunderstorm and watched T.V until the very end of the night.

Although it was the most action packed day I'd had in a long time, it was also one of the very best. I wouldn't have changed anything for the world, even the late night panic from driving in the storm. It was a night I will never forget and it was absolutely perfect.

A few weeks late, but a good memory nontheless. Climbing Colorado.

On the first day of our official Summer break from our first year of school together, we decided to go hiking. We drove up to a beautiful place we'd been a couple times before and began to climb. The first bit was easy enough, that was until Paul remembered that I had asthma, and (being the sweet, caring boyfriend he is) became nervous that I might have a hard time breathing. I never knew anyone could spend as much time worrying about someone else as I do, but luckily, I found my other half in that way.

As usual we were being silly the entire way up and I spent most of my time being concerned that I was going to trip on a rock and die or slide down the mountain. Which Paul, of course, told me he would save me from if such the thing ever happened.

After all the work and conversation we made it to our check point and looked down at the state we call home. It was really a wonderful feeling to be there with him. And although the walk down took a lot of less time and contained a lot less chitter-chatter, it was still wonderful. This was one of those "I'm going to remember this for the rest of my life" type of days because we came to one of the happiest conclusions we'd had together, thus far. It was a happy day where we got passed a big past and started an even bigger future.

Mandi.

What in the hell am I doing here?

I've decided to make a Blogspot, but I think that bit is a little obvious at this point. However, the point is, I have found myself, over the past couple months, wanting to keep a log of my life. A log of pictures, and moments that I want to save. As I assume anyone who is reading this already knows, I have a Tumblr already, but the main difference I want to make between this blog and that one is this is ONLY my life. My Tumblr is a mass amount of random posts that have nothing to do with my life specifically, which causes trying to go through and find posts about my life difficult. With that, I decided to make this blog, which will be dedicated to specific moments or days in my life that I want to record. It will be filled with pictures (which I want to get back to taking a lot of) taken from my average digital camera, and thoughts of my days. I won't be updating this nearly as much as Tumblr, for the fact that I only want it to be for very special and specific things.
I'm so excited to start this, I'm so excited to be able to look back at this page in three years and say "holy shit, this was my life, and it was beautiful, and every piece of it is right here to relive."
Happy Blogging, Everyone. I hope I get the hang of this some day.

Yours truly,
Mandi.
