June 13th: A Summer Day with 3 Summer Days Packed in it and a Camera Phone.

It all started at 12:00pm when I drove my way over to Paul's house, he climbed over into the driver's seat of my car (because his is currently a little broken, but don't worry, not too broken) and we were off! The two of us had kind of started out with rough mornings so it seemed important that we had the best day possible, which we did. I pack us lunch (PB&J plus snacks) and we drove down to the Zoo.

We felt a little overwhelmed when we first got there, considering neither of us had been to the Zoo in a good five years. So, we did what any couple would do...started from the farthest side and worked our way over.

First on the agenda of "important things we had to see" was the Grizzly Bears, mostly because I've nicknamed Paul "Bear" for as long I can remember. It's a nickname that goes around with both us. Therefore, I was more than eager to take a picture of Paul in front of the 'Bear Mountain' sign.

The next best thing (and my very favorite part of the Zoo) is the Polar Bears!! I have so much fun every time I go to the Zoo and get the see the Polar Bears, they are just always the cutest thing. I can usually go about 5 or 6 entire minutes before getting depressed that they probably hate all the hot weather. Nevertheless, we wanted to see how we measured up next to those bad boys!

Sleepy Tigers, the on his back showed us he loves tummy pets!

We got so close to a little hyena, she wasn't laughing much, though, just sleeping like her Tiger friends!

We also stood next to some Lion King friends. Paul with Simba, and I with Nala...obviously. ;]

Soon after our Zoo date had ended and we were completely worn out, Paul drove us even farther into downtown so that we could get some food for dinner! We ended up at a place that some of you might know called Maggiano's! We felt a little fancy and shared Alfredo and Spaghetti between the two of us. It was beyond good, and just what we needed to get a little energy back.

Next we were off to a lovely little baseball game where we got to sit outside and people watch. One thing about Paul and I is that we both love baseball, a lot, and therefore it was the perfect way to end the Summer day.

On the drive home, I got a little too stressed out from hectic, aggressive people on the freeway, so Paul got right back behind the wheel, once we ended up in an area neither of us had ever been in. We drove home in the middle of a Thunderstorm and watched T.V until the very end of the night.

Although it was the most action packed day I'd had in a long time, it was also one of the very best. I wouldn't have changed anything for the world, even the late night panic from driving in the storm. It was a night I will never forget and it was absolutely perfect.
